Wow guys! Thanks for everyone who commissioned me! And sorry if I made you wait >_< I know a friend who stayed up until 2AM finishing commissions... I wasn't that dedicated. Got eight hours every night, haha.
The convention is definitely a bit less exciting behind an artist alley table, but it was very gratifying to know that people wanted to pay for my art. I also took a couple hours off to see some cosplay meetups and events, so I got the best of both worlds. Thanks Kat, Annie 1 and 2, Car, Kirsten, Amy, and everyone who kept us company at the table. I wasn't a very talkative table mate, so thanks for everything, guys!
/THIS IS JUST ME TALKING TO MYSELF/
Surprisingly, my Hetalia key chains didn't sell well at all--only England and America sold decently. Probably supersaturation of the market? And my table wasn't very eye-catching X(. Next year I'll invest in a PVC-pipe display, and I'll draw more large prints. Also, the table on my left sold gothic-lolita accessories and the table on the right sold a lot of original arts and crafts. It seems like we each drew completely different demographics @_@
I want to do sticker commissions next year. I don't know how popular or feasible it will be, but I figure if they order 1~2 rows of stickers (5~10 stickers) for $7, I might get some offers? At least two people asked for key chain commissions, which is pretty impossible. I'm pretty sure only the clay/craft artists can do that; it really isn't feasible for the cut-and-laminated CG key chains (which need to be made, like, 20 at once) @_@ With sticker commissions, you get something that is usable but is decently easy for the artist to do. The logistics of it are pretty difficult though... I think about a week before the con, I'll open sticker commissions online, and they'll have to leave a phone number so I can contact them. I might also send them a text on Thursday to confirm before I print.
On a side note, I completely sold out of Layton and Luke. I think I've found my niche, huhu. I actually didn't intend to make key chains of the professor, but I got enough inquiries on Friday to make an emergency lamination run Saturday 9 AM(lolol artist alley opened at 10:30) and it turned out to be a very good decision. I have a ton of extra key chains and stickers of other stuff though, so I guess they'll go into a bargain bin next year.
All the cosplayers were very amazing! I still can't believe you guys put so much work into a single costume, it's you people who keep the con fun!
Aaaah time to go through and resize the photos of all the beautiful cosplays @_@
Now that the con's over, I think it's time to move on from this account, something that I've been planning to do for a couple years. Thanks and farewell to my followers! (I met someone at the con who recognized my art, I was very flattered ;A; ) My new stuff will be chilling out at
